After two decades of creating Perfect Grade Model kits, Bandai finally decided to recreate one of the most iconic designs in Science Fiction, the Millennium Falcon! This vessel may look like little more than space trash from the outside but hides an incredible performance level beneath its tattered panels. The always-battered Millenium Falcon played a pivotal role in the Rebellion against the Empire and fought against the First Order over 30 years after the Battle of Endor. Bandai packed an immense level of detail into this 1/72 rendition of the Falcon. The designers of this model kit spent countless hours working with the original 1.7m long studio model to create a model kit that would make even the original Star Wars Prop Masters proud!

Articulation/Gimmicks –
With just under 700 pieces in the box, the PG Millennium Falcon is not for the faint of heart. There are 47 pages of instructions to assemble the Falcon, with each page potentially adding over 20 pieces. There are tons of delicate pipes and tubes running over the surface of the Millennium Falcon, so be careful not to bend or break them. The instructions include Japanese and English text and outline the order of operations clearly. If you’re used to building Perfect Grade Gundams, you’ll find almost no similarities to the PG Millennium Falcon. The PG Falcon uses a handful of massive plastic components coupled with countless small, detailed parts in its construction. The PG Millennium Falcon‘s coolest gimmick is its LED thrusters, cockpit, landing gear, and ramp entrance! The best part? The LED Battery Box and wires are all self-contained, so no messy wires clutter up your display!
Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –
The PG Millennium Falcon includes two options for the cockpit canopy. One canopy comes without any clear parts, making it much easier to see the included pilot figures. The other does replicate the canopy’s glass for a more convincing exterior appearance. The PG Millenium Falcon is one of very few Bandai Models to receive Photo-etch parts in the box! You will need a strong blade or scissors to remove the metal parts from the runner, and it is recommended to sand down the leftover metal with low-grit sandpaper for a better fit. While this model is ideal for painting, Bandai provided a gigantic sheet of waterslides (noticeably larger than a standard sheet of paper) to recreate the off-color panels and markings on the Millennium Falcon’s exterior. There are also waterslides to create the control panels of the cockpit, a huge time-saver for those who love interior detailing!
